Seize her!\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">No one moved.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Not a single guard.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Because loyalty is powerful\u2014<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">But truth is stronger.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The girl took another step forward.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Closer to the throne.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Closer to the woman who had almost erased her existence.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cMy mother didn\u2019t want the crown,\u201d she said softly.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Another step.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cShe just wanted me to live.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The woman\u2019s hands clenched at her sides.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201c\u2026Then why come back?\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Finally.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The question that mattered.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The girl looked around the courtyard.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">At the guards.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">At the knights.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">At the people who were no longer laughing.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Then back at the throne.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cBecause surviving isn\u2019t the same as belonging.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">A long pause followed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Then\u2014<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The same knight who had knelt first\u2026<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Did so again.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">This time, not out of memory.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">But choice.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cMy Queen,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">One by one\u2014<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Others followed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Armor meeting stone.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Not forced.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Not commanded.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">But decided.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The woman on the throne stood alone now.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">For the first time\u2014<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Truly alone.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The girl didn\u2019t rush forward.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Didn\u2019t reach for the crown.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Because this moment wasn\u2019t about taking power.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">It was about restoring truth.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">She closed the locket gently.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">And as the soft click echoed through the courtyard\u2014<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">It sounded less like metal\u2026<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">And more like something long broken\u2026<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Finally being made whole.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The laughter didn\u2019t return.
