class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The faint glow of the royal crest pulsed once\u2026 then again.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Like it was waking up.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p rippled through the guards.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Because there was only one place that could be.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The last battlefield.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The place the king had fallen.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Or\u2026 disappeared.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The captain\u2019s jaw clenched.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cThat blade was lost with him,\u201d he said. \u201cNo one could lift it.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The boy\u2019s grip didn\u2019t falter.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cI didn\u2019t lift it,\u201d he replied.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">A pause.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cIt let me.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Silence hit harder than any shout.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The blacksmith took a step back, wiping his hands on his apron without realizing it.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cThat\u2019s not possible\u2026\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">But recognition.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cHe said it would find me,\u201d the boy said quietly.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The captain froze.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cThat\u2019s what they told everyone.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">A long pause.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Then\u2014<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The broken blade trembled.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Not from the boy\u2019s hands.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Slowly\u2014<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The fractured edges of the sword began to glow.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Thin lines of light tracing through the cracks.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Like fire moving through veins.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The blacksmith dropped to his knees without steadied.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">As if it had been waiting for this moment.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Waiting for him.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p truth.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The courtyard held still.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Because suddenly\u2014<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">This wasn\u2019t about a broken weapon.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">It was about something far more dangerous.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Something far more powerful.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">What had been lost\u2026<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Had not stayed lost.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">And the one holding it\u2014<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Was not just a boy.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The captain slowly dropped to one knee.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Armor scraping against stone.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The sound spread.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">One by one\u2014<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The guards followed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Not commanded.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Not forced.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">But because they understood.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The sword wasn\u2019t broken.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The story was.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">And the boy standing in the forge\u2026<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Had just begun to fix it.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p
