head to a boy.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">No one moved.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Not the fleeing monks.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Not the trembling guards.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Not even the priest\u2014<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">who now stared, eyes wide, at something he had spent his entire life misunderstanding.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201c\u2026It obeys him,\u201d one guard whispered.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The priest shook his head slowly.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cNo\u2026\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">A pause.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cIt remembers him.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The boy stepped closer.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Close enough to touch the creature\u2019s obsidian scales\u2014<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">still glowing faintly with ancient runes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Chains dragged softly as the beast shifted.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Not in anger.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In restraint.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Like it feared its own strength.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cYou\u2019ve been alone,\u201d the boy said quietly.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">His voice\u2014small against something so vast\u2014<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">yet somehow, it carried.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The beast exhaled.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">A deep, rumbling sound that echoed through the ruins.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Not a roar.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Something softer.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Something older.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The boy raised his hand\u2014<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">and placed it gently against the creature\u2019s head.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The runes flickered.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Once.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Twice.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Then steadied.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The priest staggered forward a step.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201c\u2026That mark,\u201d he breathed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">On the boy\u2019s wrist\u2014<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">a faint glow had begun to appear.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The same symbols.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The same ancient script.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Mirrored.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Linked.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cThe prophecy spoke of a binding,\u201d the priest said, voice shaking.<br>\u201cNot of chains\u2026\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Another step closer.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201c\u2026but of blood.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The boy didn\u2019t look back.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cNot blood,\u201d he said softly.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cMemory.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The word echoed strangely.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Like it didn\u2019t belong to just him.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Like something else\u2014<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">was speaking through him.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The beast\u2019s eyes dimmed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The fire within them softening\u2014<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">not dying\u2014<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">but <em>recognizing<\/em>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">A long silence passed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Then\u2014<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">the ground trembled again.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">But this time\u2014<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">not from destruction.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">From release.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The chains wrapped around the beast began to crack.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">One by one.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Heavy links snapping apart like brittle glass.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The guards flinched.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Weapons half-raised\u2014<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">but no one dared strike.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Because now\u2014<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">they understood.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">This wasn\u2019t an awakening of a curse.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">It was the end of one.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The priest dropped fully to his knees.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201c\u2026We were wrong,\u201d he whispered.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cFor centuries\u2026 we were wrong.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The boy turned slightly.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Just enough for his voice to carry back.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cYou weren\u2019t wrong,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">A pause.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cYou were afraid.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">That landed heavier than any accusation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Because it was true.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The final chain broke.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The sound echoed across the valley beyond the ruined temple.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The beast rose\u2014<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">slowly\u2014<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">to its full, towering height.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">No longer bound.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">No longer enraged.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Free.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Its massive wings shifted, scattering dust into the rising light.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Then\u2014<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">it looked down at the boy.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Not as prey.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Not as master.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">But as something far older.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">An equal.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">A guardian.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">A memory returned.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201c\u2026Who are you?\u201d the priest finally asked.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The question trembled.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Because he wasn\u2019t sure he wanted the answer.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The boy looked at his glowing hand.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Then at the beast.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Then back at the broken temple\u2014<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">the place that had tried to contain what it didn\u2019t understand.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cI\u2019m not who you think,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">A pause.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Then\u2014<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cI\u2019m who it remembers.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The beast let out a low, resonant sound\u2014<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">not a roar\u2014<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">but something closer to acknowledgment.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">And as the sun finally broke through the dust-filled sky\u2014<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">one truth became undeniable:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The world had not just witnessed a monster awaken.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">It had witnessed something far more dangerous\u2014<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">A bond restored.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">And whatever had once been cursed\u2026<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">was now
