creature dropped from the roof of the grain house directly into the street below.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">It stood nearly ten feet tall.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Its body looked wrong\u2014long limbs bent backward like broken bones while black smoke leaked endlessly from beneath cracked skin.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Its face had no eyes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Only a mouth stretched far too wide.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Old Brenner, the village class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Brenner flew across the street so violently his body smashed through a wagon wheel before crumpling motionless beside the flames.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">People began screaming.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">More creatures descended from the rooftops.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">A gigantic shadow beast crouched directly behind the boy.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The villagers froze.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Even
