PART 2 — THE FLOOR THAT AWAKENED

The rumbling grew stronger.

Cracks raced across the polished marble floor like lightning.

Nobles stumbled from their seats.

Torches swayed violently along the walls.

The four royal guards stopped advancing.

For the first time in years, fear appeared in their eyes.

At the center of the throne room stood the boy.

Eleven years old.

Small.

Thin.

Unarmed.

Yet somehow he looked like the calmest person in the hall.

The Queen rose abruptly from her throne.

“What is this?”

Her voice trembled.

The boy slowly lifted his gaze.

His gray eyes seemed strangely ancient.

“I asked you not to touch me.”

The words were quiet.

But every person heard them.

The Queen’s face reddened.

“You dare threaten your queen?”

The boy shook his head.

“No.”

The rumbling intensified.

“I’m warning you.”

A deafening crack echoed through the chamber.

Part of the marble floor split apart.

Gasps erupted.

Several nobles fled toward the doors.

Others dropped to their knees.

The Queen’s confidence faded completely.

The throne room was no longer obeying her.

It was obeying him.

Then something impossible happened.

The enormous royal throne began moving.

Slowly.

Grinding across the stone floor.

The Queen staggered backward.

Nobody touched it.

Yet it moved on its own.

And it was moving toward the boy.

PART 3 — THE NAME HIDDEN IN HISTORY

The throne stopped directly in front of him.

Silence consumed the hall.

The boy stared at the ancient seat.

For several moments, nobody moved.

Then the oldest historian in the kingdom entered the chamber.

The elderly man froze instantly.

His walking cane slipped from his fingers.

“No…”

The whisper echoed through the room.

The Queen frowned.

“What is it now?”

The historian pointed toward the throne.

More specifically…

Toward the symbols appearing across its surface.

Ancient symbols.

Golden runes.

Runes no one had seen for centuries.

The old man’s hands trembled.

“It cannot be.”

The Queen stepped forward.

“Explain yourself.”

The historian swallowed.

Then he spoke a name.

A name erased from official records long ago.

“Arlen.”

The boy’s expression changed.

Only slightly.

But enough.

The historian gasped.

“You know that name.”

The boy looked away.

The Queen folded her arms.

“Who is Arlen?”

The historian stared at the child.

Then at the throne.

Then at the symbols.

Finally, he answered.

“The first king.”

The room fell silent.

Every noble knew the story.

Arlen the Founder.

The legendary ruler who built the kingdom over a thousand years earlier.

The king whose body was never found.

The king who supposedly died without an heir.

The historian pointed at the boy.

“But according to the oldest legends…”

His voice shook.

“…he made a promise before he vanished.”

The Queen narrowed her eyes.

“What promise?”

The old man whispered:

‘When the kingdom forgets its purpose, I will return.’

PART 4 — THE CHILD WITH NO FAMILY NAME

The throne room was cleared immediately.

Only a handful remained.

The Queen.

The historian.

Several royal advisors.

And the boy.

Rain hammered against the palace windows.

Thunder rolled across the distant mountains.

The Queen sat stiffly.

“Tell us who you are.”

The boy hesitated.

Then answered.

“My name is Eli.”

“Your family name?”

“I don’t have one.”

The advisors exchanged glances.

The Queen sighed.

“This is ridiculous.”

The historian disagreed.

Strongly.

“What happened when you touched the floor?”

Eli looked uncomfortable.

“I listened.”

The historian blinked.

“Listened to what?”

The boy pointed downward.

“The palace.”

Silence followed.

The Queen laughed.

“The palace?”

Eli nodded.

“It talks.”

Nobody spoke.

Because everyone knew how insane that sounded.

Yet none of them could explain the moving throne.

Or the runes.

Or the earthquakes.

The historian leaned forward.

“What does it say?”

Eli’s eyes drifted toward the stone beneath them.

Then he answered.

“It says something is waking up.”

Every person in the room went still.

Outside, lightning flashed.

And deep beneath the palace…

Something roared.

PART 5 — THE THING BENEATH THE KINGDOM

The roar shook the capital.

Citizens rushed into the streets.

Church bells rang.

Dogs barked wildly.

Windows shattered.

Panic spread rapidly.

Within hours, reports flooded the palace.

Cracks had appeared throughout the city.

Ancient tunnels were opening beneath buildings.

Stone walls collapsed without warning.

Something enormous was moving underground.

The Queen gathered her council immediately.

The historian looked terrified.

Far more terrified than before.

Finally, the Queen snapped.

“You know something.”

The old man nodded.

Reluctantly.

Then he opened a sealed iron chest.

Dust exploded into the air.

Inside rested a single ancient book.

A book forbidden for centuries.

The historian carefully opened it.

Several pages contained illustrations.

One image made everyone freeze.

A giant creature.

Larger than castles.

Its body appeared carved from stone.

Its eyes glowed gold.

The Queen’s face lost color.

“What is that?”

The historian swallowed.

“The Crown Titan.”

Silence.

“The first king imprisoned it beneath the capital one thousand years ago.”

The Queen stared.

“Why?”

The historian looked at Eli.

Then answered.

“Because the Titan chose kings.”

The room became deathly still.

According to the oldest legends, the Crown Titan judged rulers.

Corrupt rulers.

Cruel rulers.

Selfish rulers.

And when kingdoms lost their way…

It awakened.

PART 6 — THE QUEEN’S SECRET

That night, Eli stood alone atop a palace tower.

Rain fell softly around him.

The city lights flickered below.

Footsteps approached.

The Queen.

For several moments, neither spoke.

Finally, she sighed.

“I shouldn’t have slapped you.”

Eli remained silent.

The Queen laughed bitterly.

“I suppose that’s obvious.”

She looked toward the city.

Fear filled her eyes.

Not fear for herself.

Fear for her people.

The realization surprised her.

For years she had ruled through pride.

Through authority.

Through distance.

Yet now thousands depended on her choices.

And she wasn’t sure she deserved that responsibility.

“Eli…”

Her voice trembled.

“Can the Titan be stopped?”

The boy looked toward the palace below.

“I don’t know.”

The answer hurt.

Because it was honest.

The Queen lowered her head.

Then quietly asked:

“Do you think I’m a bad queen?”

The question surprised even her.

Eli thought for a long moment.

Then answered.

“No.”

Hope appeared in her eyes.

Until he continued.

“I think you’re becoming one.”

The words struck like a hammer.

Yet deep inside…

She knew he was right.

PART 7 — THE TITAN’S JUDGMENT

At dawn, the ground exploded.

The palace courtyard split apart.

Stone shattered.

Ancient foundations collapsed.

And from the depths emerged the Crown Titan.

The creature dwarfed towers.

Its golden eyes illuminated the city.

Thousands watched in terror.

The Titan slowly turned toward the palace.

Then toward the Queen.

Its voice echoed like mountains breaking.

“WHO SITS UPON THE THRONE?”

The Queen stepped forward.

Alone.

“It is I.”

The Titan’s gaze narrowed.

“ARE YOU WORTHY?”

Silence.

The question hung over the city.

The Queen wanted to say yes.

She wanted to defend herself.

To justify everything.

But she couldn’t.

Not honestly.

So she lowered her head.

And answered:

“I don’t know.”

The entire capital fell silent.

The Titan stared.

Unmoving.

The Queen continued.

“I’ve made mistakes.”

Her voice shook.

“I’ve hurt people.”

She glanced toward Eli.

Including him.

“But if I’ve failed…”

Tears appeared in her eyes.

“…then I’ll spend the rest of my life trying to do better.”

The Titan studied her.

For a very long time.

Then something unexpected happened.

The giant creature looked toward Eli.

And bowed.

The crowd gasped.

The Titan’s massive voice thundered once more.

“THE HEIR HAS RETURNED.”

The Queen froze.

Every noble froze.

Every citizen froze.

Only Eli looked confused.

PART 8 — THE END

The city became silent.

The Titan remained bowed before the child.

The Queen stared.

“Heir?”

The Titan nodded.

“THE FIRST KING’S BLOOD REMAINS.”

Eli stepped backward.

“What?”

The giant creature looked directly at him.

“ARLEN DID NOT VANISH.”

The world seemed to stop.

The Titan’s golden eyes softened.

“HE CHOSE TO HIDE HIS DESCENDANTS UNTIL THE KINGDOM NEEDED THEM AGAIN.”

The historian nearly collapsed.

The forgotten legends.

The erased records.

The missing heir.

All of it was true.

Eli wasn’t merely a strange child.

He carried the blood of the kingdom’s founder.

The lost royal line.

The original line.

The crowd waited.

The Queen waited.

The Titan waited.

Everyone expected Eli to claim the throne.

Instead, he asked a different question.

“Why?”

The Titan blinked.

“Why tell me this now?”

The creature smiled.

A surprisingly gentle smile.

“BECAUSE THE THRONE WAS NEVER THE POINT.”

Silence.

“THE KINGDOM DOES NOT NEED A NEW RULER.”

The Titan looked toward the Queen.

“IT NEEDS A BETTER ONE.”

Tears filled the Queen’s eyes.

For the first time, she understood.

The Titan had not awakened to replace her.

It had awakened to test her.

To force change.

To remind the kingdom what leadership meant.

The giant slowly began dissolving into golden light.

The cracks throughout the city healed.

The earthquakes ceased.

The fear vanished.

Peace returned.

Before disappearing completely, the Titan spoke one final time.

“REMEMBER.”

The light faded.

The giant was gone.

The danger was over.

Months later, the kingdom changed.

Taxes were reduced.

Corrupt nobles were removed.

Public courts were opened.

The Queen traveled among her people instead of hiding behind palace walls.

And whenever someone praised her transformation, she always gave the same answer:

“It started with a boy.”

As for Eli…

He refused every title offered to him.

Prince.

Heir.

Future king.

All of them.

Instead, he remained exactly who he had always been.

A quiet child who listened.

Sometimes to people.

Sometimes to problems.

And occasionally…

To palaces.

Years later, children still told stories about the day the throne room obeyed a boy.

The day a queen lost her arrogance.

The day a forgotten bloodline returned.

But most importantly…

The day an entire kingdom learned that true authority does not come from a throne.

It comes from earning the trust of those you serve.

Because crowns may command obedience.

But character commands respect.
